Organisers of Portugal Shipping Week have released an official schedule for the Autumn event celebrating Portugal’s role as a global shipping and logistics maritime centre, cruise ship destination and bunkering hub.
The week-long event involves a series of government and industry events running from September 17 to 21. It includes conferences and seminars to port and ship visits, round tables and training courses as well as networking opportunities – designed to promote business and drive global trade.
Created jointly by Portugal’s Ministry of the Sea and Shipping Innovation, creator of London International Shipping Week, it will bring together Portuguese Government policy-makers with a wide range of maritime sector stakeholders to focus on the region’s shipping, in all its different aspects.
Portugal Minister for the Sea Ana Paula Vitorino said: “We look forward to welcoming the global shipping industry to Lisbon in September to meet and network with leaders of the Portuguese maritime sector, in the context of the Portuguese government’s policy to promote the ocean, and linked to several international maritime events that will take place in Portugal in 2018.”
Highlights of the week include:
- Ministerial Opening Reception
